WWE Battleground has ended and for the most part it was half good and half bad. I’m not sure that Ryback not being there was a bad thing, because his match might have been lumped in between some boring matches. The wrestlers he was suppose to face, The Miz and Big Show, did a small 5 minute spot where The Miz shot off his mouth and the Big Show came out and punched him. This was only done to kill time and to show off a spiffy little anklet The Miz was wearing, this was also a good thing for Big Show because he didn’t talk. He didn’t scream in to a microphone, he just walked out hit Miz and walked out.

With that all that aside, let’s take a look at the matches and see how I did.

R-Truth vs. King Barrett – I was wrong, Barret won. In a so-so match, King Barrett pulled off the win. This match did what it had to do, entertain people while they got snacks and took their seats.

Randy Orton vs. Sheamus – I was right, Orton won. I completely forgot that this was Randy’s hometown, so of course he had to win. The match went as well as Sheamus could have performed, with a very nicely executed RKO performed by Randy Orton. This is, hopefully,  the beginning of a Randy Orton story line that doesn’t involve Sheamus.

The Prime Time Players vs. The New Day – I was right, The Primetime Players won. The best part of this match was Xavier Woods being the hype man that no one wants around. It’s almost like he’s doing it on purpose and for the most part I believe he did. The free bird rule didn’t come into play, but he did get a nice slam against the outside apron.

Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt – I was wrong, Bray Wyatt won. These shouldn’t count against me as his win was due to Luke Harper coming in for the assist. With Harper joining Wyatt I can only assume Reigns will recruit someone to have a tag team match at Summerslam. I feel that Dean Ambrose would be great, but I’ve heard rumors it could be Sting.

Charlotte vs. Brie Bella vs. Sasha Banks – This wasn’t a scheduled match, but with Stephanie McMahon talking up how the Divas division needs to be showcased it had to happen. Besides Brie Bella, this match featured two NXT wrestlers that were recently brought to the main roster. Ric Flair fans may recognize Charlotte, because it’s his daughter. This match could have been good but the crowd just wasn’t behind it, mostly because of Brie. For some reason the crowd just hated anytime that Brie entered the ring and did anything. Luckily Brie didn’t win, Charlotte did.

John Cena vs. Kevin Owens – I was wrong, John Cena won. This may be a rubber match, but I feel that there’ll be a match at Summerslam that Owens will win. This match followed the streak of good matches between these two, with some high flying moves and an AA off the top rope. I can’t believe that Owens was able to kick out of most of the moves that were done to him, it’s just a shame he had to lose by tapping out.

Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar – I didn’t win or lose, but I did call Undertaker making an appearance. This may have been payback but during the match, while Lesnar was taking Rollins to suplex city, Undertaker appeared and gave Lesnar a choke slam and two tombstones. Rollins was nowhere to be seen after Undertaker showed up, so this means that Summerslam will have Undertaker vs. Lesnar and Rollins vs. someone. Maybe Ambrose will team with Reigns and Sting will face Rollins.
