Welcome to the very first episode of Quarter Eaters!

In this series, we’re taking a look at classic arcade games and answering a question every arcade kid knows all too well: just how many quarters would it take to beat them?

For Episode 1, we’re saddling up with Sunset Riders, Konami’s legendary Wild West run-and-gun shooter that hit arcades in 1991. Before jumping into the gameplay, we’ll take a quick look at the history of the game, who developed it, and the story behind the bounty hunters chasing some of the most wanted outlaws in the Old West.

After that, it’s time for a full arcade longplay as we ride across the frontier, collect bounties, battle bosses, and see what it takes to reach the ending of this arcade classic.

Game Information:

  • Title: Sunset Riders
  • Developer: Konami
  • Publisher: Konami
  • Original Arcade Release: 1991
