One of Stan Lee’s many project he has hand in his the Youtube channel Worldofheroes. Within this channel you’ll find original animations, trailers, announcements and recently a music video for No Hero Now. Directed by Jennie Kong, the video is not only a visual companion to the song, but a mini movie that could easily be the beginning of a full theatrical film.
No Hero Now was written by Vy Nguyen, Jason Chu and Keith Jackson and performed in the video by Vy and Jason. The song is powerful yet soft on the ears, which is mostly thanks to soothing voice of Vy Nguyen. The music never over powers the vocals and message of the song, but it does know when it needs to be ramped up.
You can’t watch the video and enjoy the song without taking a look at what the narrative of the video is trying to convey. You begin by seeing our hero with a projectile through the chest and the video then flashes back and shows you just how she got there. The death of a partner and a flashback to when she was young and being trained are only a section of the story of our heroes life. The climax of the video when we see her finds her former master beaten and tied up is when the super hero aspect gets thrown into the mix. The fight between someone with heart against someone with abilities shows that as long as you believe in yourself, you can overcome anything.
