I know I’ve harped on this ever since I was able to bring this subject up, but I am a huge fan of Chrono Trigger, and it’s always in my top 5 list when I’m asked about favorite video games. The story was amazing, the music was perfect and you actually cared about all the characters and their outcome at the end of the game. I even went through and made sure to get every ending possible, even the one where you speak to a room full of people who worked on the game. The sequel, Chrono Cross, was decent and I enjoyed it, but the best part of the game was seeing little kid ghosts of the main cast. Sadly there weren’t any direct sequels, but there have been many games who have taken from the game. One of those games is getting a release this summer on the Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita.
I am Setsuna is a recent announcement from Square-Enix and they perked people’s ears when Chrono Trigger was announced, but it was only to reference the battle system of the game. The game is said to bring gamers back to the authentic role playing games, but unfortunately there isn’t any word on if it will ever come to Xbox One. I have always said that we need a new Chrono Trigger and if this the only thing we have that comes close, then I will label it a system seller.
