Ever since Stone Cold Steve Austin did his podcast, with guest Paul Heyman, I have been wondering how much of it was for the show and for real. I have been watching WWE for a long time and I know that it’s fake and predetermined, so when I say fake I was talking about the end of the podcast. The whole podcast was very entertaining and Paul Heyman is always great on the microphone, but when it came to the end and Paul brought up Austin vs Lesnar the whole mood of the show changed. If you ever wanted to know how fast Steve Austin could change his attitude, just ask him about him versus Brock Lesnar. Paul Heyman brought it up at the end and continued doing some stuff on his phone while Steve became straight faced and wanted to address it. He was visually upset with Paul because he wasn’t taking the question he had asked as serious as Austin had. At one point of the interview, Austin told Heyman he was about to beat his ass. While this whole thing was going on, the only thing I was thinking was that this was to build up speculation. Vince McMahon is a great promoter and to me this was his way of testing the waters to see what the WWE Universe thought of this possible match.

Before we continue on with the current possibility of Austin vs Lesnar, let’s take a look at the match that was suppose to happen. CM Punk is my favorite wrestler, even thought he’s gone, of all time. Before he left, the WWE also tested the water with CM Punk and Steve Austin.

This is a prime example of wondering if this is real or fake. The reason for this interview was to talk about the video game, but 3/4 of it is passive aggressive jabs from both CM Punk and Steve Austin.

Now we can go back to my Lesnar vs Austin thoughts. I think that since Brock Lesnar vs Stone Cold Steve Austin would sell a lot of tickets. Austin remarked to Heyman that if it happened, it would have to be the main event, so we’ll see if that flies. The return of Sting vs Triple H at this years Wrestlemania was only a middle card match, so a non title returning champion vs beast main event would be a pretty big deal.
