Yesterday during Xbox‘s Gamescom event, Jurassic World Evolution was announced. What I thought would be a first or third person shooter turned out to be a real time strategy game coming to the Xbox One. I know that Halo Wars 2 has done really well on Windows 10, but not as well as Xbox One and that’s coming straight from the Gamescom event. During one of the interviews a gentleman mentioned that HW2 did well on Windows 10, but did not mention Xbox One.

When it comes to real time strategy games, the PC has been the go to place to play them because of the use of the mouse and keyboard. They ported controls to the Xbox One Controller, but there user interface of a mouse and keyboard just seems to work so much better. Granted I haven’t tried to plug my keyboard into my Xbox One, and frankly I don’t want to because I want to keep my Xbox One and PC separate. What I can say is that Jurassic World Evolution will be another attempt to get the market that didn’t like Halo Wars 2 into playing an RTS on home console. Kids love dinosaurs, kids play Xbox One, kids will play with dinosaurs on Xbox One.

The website for Jurassic Word Evolution isn’t even live yet with additional screenshots or text about the game, so for all I know it could be half RTS half FPS. Build a base then go out and blast dinosaurs with the defenses you’ve put up, or maybe unleash trained raptors because at this point your guess is as good as mine. What they did provide was a trailer showing what you could see, if you are running a 4K television I assume.
