Kickstarter is awesome in the opportunities it provides to people taking memories of my childhood and reintroducing them. The current Kickstarter project to trigger a rush of memories comes from Harebrained Schemes and their project is Battletech.

For me, my first encounter with anything mech related was Mech Warrior 3. I remember it was a rainy day and I went to best buy and bought a Dead Kennedy’s CD and Mech Warrior 3, which installed on our huge Sony VAIO computer. I thought I was hot stuff with my huge Titantron monitor and dual speakers, but it was abundantly clear to me that I had to be serious because there was a whole layout of buttons I had to memorize. Later I tried Mech Commander, which was my first real time strategy game and I went in being a little more comfortable. I now play Mech Warrior online and get demolished, but with this new Kickstarter I can go back to turn based gaming with updated Mech Commander type looks. The project has a goal of $250,000 and with 33 days left it is over 1 Million dollars, so don’t be worried about this not being funded. As of this posting, this has been unlocked so far
