Everyone wants to cash in on that sweet superhero money, and cable channels are not exception. If you’ve never heard of the channel Freeform, you may have known it under the previous name of ABC Family. Freeform is more of an experimental channel and I’d say a pretty unknown one as well, so it would only make sense to drive more viewers to the channel with a known product. According to Variety, Freeform has ordered a straight to series live action show featuring the superhero duo Cloak and Dagger.

I don’t want to sound mean, but these are the most popular characters in the Marvel universe, so it would also only make sense that a channel looking to get some views wouldn’t get the top shelf comic book characters. Although, if done right this could be a great place to experiment with budgets and viewership. The channel does aim for the 14-34 demo, and with no writers attached they may be looking at some young hungry writers show have the sense of humor that brings this show to popularity of other comic book themed shows.
