Each Monday I like to take a look at a piece of media that stands out to me. This could be anything from an episode of a TV show or cartoon or just an album I think you should enjoy.
This week allow your ears to enjoy the sounds of Led Zeppelin
Artist: Led Zeppelin
Album: Physical Graffiti
Song: Trampled Under Foot
When it comes to Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti there could have been numerous entries from this album, but I decided to make a choice based someone else’s recommendation. I’m not saying that I don’t like this song, but my brother in law and I were talking about music and playing songs on his guitar when we this song came up. I’m sure you’ve heard this song before either when it came out, on the radio or in a movie, but there are a lot of you who wouldn’t know the name of it. Looking at this song from a guitar players point of view, you have to wonder what must be going on to have the riffs come out like they do. During our conversation I mentioned that I feel like back in the 60’s and 70’s they put a lot more thought and complexity into their guitar playing, and current day songs are just a collection of power chords. I don’t want to take away from the point that this is a great song, so put on some earphones and press play on the video embedded above.
