It was recently announced that Philip Ng would be portraying a young Bruce Lee during a very important part of Lee’s life. Unlike other movies about Bruce Lee this wouldn’t be a biopic of his life, but instead Birth of the Dragon would be a story that focuses mainly on his fight with Wong Jack Man.
The details of the fight itself are sketchy, with many sources giving their version of the fight, but the consensus is that it was caused because Lee was teaching Caucasians martial arts. Man was a rival martial arts teacher and challenged Lee to a fight after a mutual friend delivered a message from Lee inviting him to fight.
