Proving that movies don’t work as television shows and buzz means nothing, NBC has added Hannibal to it’s list of shows that will no longer be view able on that channel. After three seasons of pushing the limits of what can be shown on a network show, the higher ups have cancelled the show and released the follow press release

We have been tremendously proud of ‘Hannibal’ over its three seasons,” the network announced in a statement. “Bryan and his team of writers and producers, as well as our incredible actors, have brought a visual palette of storytelling that has been second to none in all of television — broadcast or cable. We thank Gaumont and everyone involved in the show for their tireless efforts that have made ‘Hannibal’ an incredible experience for audiences around the world.

It’s too bad, the planned out six season show looked to end on some real high notes. The story lines would have started paralleling the movies and the sixth season would have been a lead up the 1999 novel Hannibal.
