On Saturday the cast of Deadpool were part of the 20th Century Fox panel in Hall H at Comic Con. Along with the director the whole cast came out and the panel itself was moderated by Chris Hardwick. The cast was only out about 20 minutes because they were sharing the allotted hour with X-Men: Age of Apocalypse, Gambit, Fantastic Four and Wolverine, but from crowd reactions Deadpool was the clear winner of most enjoyable.
As you can tell, the jokes came mostly from TJ Miller, but the great jabs came from Ryan Reynolds. If you didn’t catch it, he made mention that he had never worn an actual superhero costume, because in Green Lantern it was all CG. Ryan Reynolds has stated that he doesn’t plan to play any other superheros after this, so he jabs at DC‘s Green Lantern won’t really hurt him He also had a no mouth sown shut clause, taking aim at how Deadpool was portrayed in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. This is the panel that was I most looking forward to and even though I wasn’t able to go, I still feel that this was enough to satisfy me. I’d also like to give thanks to the person who recorded and leaked out the Deadpool trailer that was shown after the panel was over.
The trailer looks great and even thought it is an origin story, it’ll be the first time it has even been shown on screen so it has to be shown. The jokes are consistent from Wade Wilson before and after his transformation, and the trailer is a red band one because is some cussing. I personally have watched the trailer numerous time, and will continue to watch it because it’s something I’ve looked forward to since it was announced.
I appreciate all the love from the fans since the original footage was leaked, because it’s what drove the studio to green light the movie. If this movie makes the money it should, then we’ll see Deadpool return in sequels and pop into other movies for small cameos and it will all be because of us, the fans.
