Yesterday the whole world either spent time watching a sport they had never watched before, or sat and refreshed the Star Wars Youtube and Twitter pages hoping to see the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer. I didn’t watch the game, I was watching wrestling and refreshing like most other people. The time finally game and I sat and watched, a few times, something I had not seen in a very long time. I wasn’t alive at the time the original Star Wars movie came out but I was alive for the prequels, and even though they get crap they still provided trailers to the start of a brand new trilogy. This is the second time I have been able to watch Star Wars trailer for a brand new trilogy, and it felt amazing. There’s something great about knowing that you are about to be apart of some cinematic history.
I had been writing and reading about rumors that were both true and untrue, and when the official poster was released there were some answers but also more questions. I went through and watched the trailer numerous times, but it wasn’t for the reason of pick anything up but to just marvel in a movie I would be able to see in a few months. I did pick up on a few things, so I thought I would go through and write about a few key points in the trailer and it would also give me a reason to watch it again.
I’ll be bullet pointing these from the beginning of the trailer and then posting the trailer at the bottom if you want to see what I was talking about.
- A person covered in all white garb, by the looks of her clothing and the rest of the trailer I would guess this is Rey. She is inside what I can only describe as a hollowed out Star Destroyer.
- BB-8 is either a droid Rey picked up or built
- A new uprising of the Empire as a dark figure speaks Storm Troopers surrounded by Tie Fighters
- Finn states he was born to do one thing, which means they changed the clone formula or they are drafting recruits
- A shot down Tie Fighter with a shot of Finn walking in a desert planet that Rey also looks to be on, makes me wonder if he was in that Tie Fighter that was shot down and this is how he meets Rey.
- The person in the black helmet with silver around the eyes obviously has a voice changer
- When the person in black tells the burnt Darth Vader helmet he will finish what Vader started it means that this person is either Kylo Ren or Luke Skywalker.
- Finishing what Vader started could not mean a bad thing. Vader killed the Emperor and this person may be finishing wiping out all the rest of the Sith
- Poe Dameron is experiencing a new harsher version of a force choke applied directly to the face
- Episode 4, 5 and 6 have become legend and Rey asks Han about it
- The person in black has a group of all black soldiers, one with the same helmet as his, and we see the tri-saber
- Finn looks to have changed from Empire to the Rebellion, but what a time to have a voice over about the dark side
- We see Luke put his hand on R2-D2 with the same setting as a camp of Storm Troopers. We see a quick glimpse of Captain Phasma also in this same setting
- Some has died and Rey is crying over them
- BB-8 is the new R2-D2
- Leia put her head on Han’s chest because they are entering battle or she knows who they are battling
- Finn look confidant then changes mood once the tri-saber comes out
- The final words spoken are just let it in and that could mean let the light side or the dark side in
