Today’s Way Back Wednesday game is one I have never played and also one I have played before, as this may sound confusing I’ll explain what I mean. In 1991 Konami developed and published one of the most fun arcade games ever created, Sunset Riders. Armed with unlimited bullets, you and up to three friends could play as cowboys taking out bad guys and rescuing the girl. Each level was side scrolling and you could pick up different power ups as your went, and this is the same with Mystic Warriors.
You choose between 4 characters of different race, but with the same skill and weapons, and you battle a gang called Skull as you try to take down their leader. Each of the levels are side strollers and you are given unlimited to kill everyone in the vicinity. There are power ups hidden in boxes, and their hard to miss because with unlimited ammo you should just be spamming your attacks.
Like all arcade machines, this game was setup to take your money at all costs. The bosses aren’t hard, but they do piss you off because you have to be patient as your tap the attack button and try to hit them. All enemies are one hit kills and the places this game takes you make no sense.
For a first time player, of this game, I had fun but I had to practice patients. The final boss has three forms and there is no way to beat him without taking a hit once. If you have the ability to play it set aside about 45 minutes, it shouldn’t take you longer than that to beat it
