One of the best parts of Overwatch, other than the extremely fun game play, is the rich lore that Blizzard has put into each character. When the game premiered there were accompanying beautifully rendered CGI shorts that showed off some of the backstory to a few of the characters, and the connection between a few of them have been also slowly revealed over the time the game’s been out. Currently there are 23 different characters with roles ranging from offense, defense, support and being tanks, but the room for expansion is always there. Recently there was a cryptic message put out on Twitter from the Overwatch account concerning a new character literally being built.
[UPDATE] Genius grant recipient and Numbani local Efi Oladele posts curious image on her holovid channel, declaring: “Time to get to work!” pic.twitter.com/lQSzzD5ZT5

Efi Oladele is not a playable character, mostly because she’s only 11, but she is an inventor and a valuable part of the Overwatch world. The above tweet does give some insight on the new character but like most good character hints it doesn’t give away much. The picture of the drawn face may show that the new character is a female as those don’t look like horn but possibly weird double ponytails. Seeing how she is being built, the UR-15 Chassis is some kind of robotic skelton, the Brandford Arm is a probably going to be her weapon, the Fusion Driver may be how she is powered with the Miniature Tolbelsetin Reactor being the Ultimate, there will be four different skins for this character and she will have no voice at this time. The Lucio-Oh’s are just the cereal that is being eaten, sometimes people like to eat or drink certain things while they work.
As of right now there has been nothing announced and I’m pretty sure the data miners will be heavy at work looking for new URL’s and code that will give some insight to spoil the reveal prior to Blizzard‘s liking. In any case this is a great way to keep the game interesting an new, as none of the updates have been paid DLC and with a new character may also come new items for other characters. Blizzcon isn’t until later this year, and I don’t think they’ll wait that long, but E3 is a few months away and around that time would probably be the ideal time to show the new character off.
