SlashZero caught our attention during the latest PlayStation State of Play, so naturally Dre and I had to jump in and see what it was all about.
SlashZero is a fast-paced, anime-style 3D side-scrolling action roguelike featuring flashy combat, multiple playable characters, different builds and a cyberpunk world filled with collapsing timelines.
But while I was playing, Dre started asking a much bigger question:
Are video games running out of original ideas?
That turned into a whole conversation about the latest PlayStation State of Play, modern gaming trends and how so many new games seem to borrow the same mechanics, art styles and concepts from games we’ve already played.
Is SlashZero another game following the crowd, or does it do enough to stand on its own?
Grab a seat and enjoy the gameplay while Dre brings the 🔥 takes.
